While Buckethead has performed in some of the exact same venues in the exact same places throughout his entire career, he doesn't go to all of them at one time per tour. There are even a few venues that he has never performed at before! For whatever reason (usually because of climate, venue scheduling, and timing I would imagine) he has to pick and choose which places he decides to perform each and every tour. Where has he gone in the past? What times of the year has he toured?
To keep any predictions or assumptions of the future fairly accurate, I am only doing tours since he has released albums within the pikes discography, i.e. 2011 - 2019.
This map shows all the states that Buckethead has performed in since 2011. There is no surprise in seeing that California is the number one most frequented place he has visited given that he lives there and has a significant history there. Nevertheless, Buckethead has graced the eastern and southern states more frequently than he has the western states as a whole.
So are there times of the year that Buckethead is more likely to tour? If he just finished a tour in May 2019, then is there hope for him doing more shows in the future? Short answer to all of these questions: yes!
Notice that the spring and summer months are the most frequented months of the year where Buckethead tours. That makes sense, given that winter-time would be a terrible time to travel the country. In fact, the only places that Buckethead frequents during the early months of the year are in the western and southern states, regions of the USA that are generally warmer and milder during the early months of the year. Therefore, traveling is much easier.
